And now for something completely different…

So, I’m generally not the hugest supporter of our government (understatement).

I tend to think that they really have no idea what they’re doing. This is because I’m on one of the people near the bottom of the social ladder(i.e. not rich) so I get shat on by the government all the time (not understatement).

However, occasionally I do see the government funding worthy projects and doing good things, and I think it’s important to give credit where credit is due – then maybe they’ll figure out how to put more money towards the things that actually do good and less towards their own personal jacuzzis. Maybe.

Today, I went to the optometrist’s to pay for my new glasses, and I found out that the government will actually pay up to 155$ towards my glasses. Which is AWESOME, because my glasses are fucking expensive – seriously, it’s ridiculous, but that’s a rant for another day.

I guess point I want to make is that despite all the corruption, overpaid fat guys, and complete lack of understanding about how people actually live, Canada’s democratic system was originally created to do good things, and they do actually follow through on it sometimes. And I do find that a small bit comforting in all the times that the government totally fucks me or my loved ones over.

But then again, I’m a hippie communist so don’t fucking listen to me.
